Fellowship Quest: My very own Elvaan Slave Boy (npc)
Gauldeval and me leveling in Qufim Island
I love my npc. I had him made to my specs through a pretty simple quest. He is cute, tall, and my very own elvaan slave. I enjoy going someplace with him and spending some quality time talking and giggling with him. Sometimes we drink hot cocoa in front of the fire in my mog and he always has mitrabobs cooking for me when I come through my mog door. The way he looks at me just tells me he really cares....hehe not really. My npc is more like a real man than I would like. He doesn't spend much time with me and doesn't really want to talk when we are together.
Hell, he prolly sleeps with my moogle when I am away. My favorite line he give me is, "Lets not talk. We don't want to alert any enemies of our positon." or the popular, "Sometimes I just feel like being quiet." Hmmm. Would it hurt for him to say I look pretty when I hold my sword that way. Well, I guess I will take what I can get. I still really like him and even if he is my forced slave. I have the power in the relationship. I can make him sit in the moghouse for as long as I want or decide to have a mob kill him when he doesn't give me the attention I want.
Some info I have learned courting of my npc... The NPC can be called forth once every 20 hours with a pearl that is equiped on the ear. The npc stays out longer the higher their level is. My npc stays out about 15 kills right now and his current level is 36. The npc starts at level 30 and can be leveled pretty quickly with a little patience. When I first started leveling the npc, I thought that the xp that he would receive was based on the the level the mobs were to me at my current level. So I would use a lower level job and solo with him but he would leave my side way too quickly for me. I had leveled with him numerous times and he never indicated that he had leveled. After a little time, I started asking around and found that you can use a higher job(mobs can be too weak to you) to level with him and just so long as the mobs are IT to his current level he will receive xp points accordingly. Also, you can target your npc and they will 'talk to you'. The npc will give you very standard sayings or sometimes share important info like if they are gonna level soon or if they are a caster they may say if they need to rest soon. Plus you can change the job type of your npc, by meeting with them in Ru'Lude Gardens, so as to avoid his untimely death when he vokes the mob(npc starts with voking ability). Once you enter from Lower Jeuno, just head to the first corner to the left and you will see a rendevous point. There you can 'talk' about the style and indictors you would like from him/her. After some leveling with your npc, talk with Luto in Lower Jueno and she will say that your npc has been shopping for a new weapon and that she will give it to him once you have picked one out. Just trade the weapon to her. Of course, there are certain weapons that will only be accepted, check the link below for more info on it. Also the type of weapon you choose will be the weapon skills available for your npc to use. I have found katana to be the best to get you started with skillchaining with your npc. I first started leveling my npc in Crawlers nest and then moved to Altepa Desert at about 34. I have been currently leveling my npc with others in Kuftal Tunnel. I get together with some friends and skill up on crabs and lizards. Sometimes people will even seek me out to level our npcs together. It seems it is easy to get facinated with your npc and want to show him or her off to others. I have posted some links I found helpful below. Happy NPCing!

The page looks nice. I like the picture organization, where you have two little pictures or one big one, etc. You appear to have mastered using Blogger already.
